Communication Specialist

The Los Rios Community College District is a leading educational institution seeking qualified candidates for the part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position in Communication Studies. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean.
Salary Information:
This position offers an estimated salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, based on academic degree, upper/graduate level units earned, and/or related professional occupational experience. Job Description:
As an adjunct faculty member in Communication Studies, your primary responsibilities will include teaching courses across all levels in this discipline. You may be required to teach various courses, such as Introduction to Public Speaking, Argumentation and Debate, and Mass Media and Society. Your instructional assignment may encompass teaching on multiple campuses within the district. The ideal candidate will possess a master's degree in Speech, Speech Broadcasting, Telecommunications, Rhetoric, Communication, Communication Studies, or Organizational Communication, or equivalent experience.

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong background in communication studies, with a focus on equity-mindedness, responsiveness, and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds. You should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students from various backgrounds and experiences. In addition, you should have experience with current technology and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Moreover, you must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the subject matter and a passion for teaching and mentoring students. Experience working with diverse populations and a demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment are highly desirable.
