Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Service Technician to join our team in Boston. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing customer service-related work in mechanical, piping, controls, and HVAC Chilled Water and Hydronic Heating Systems.
The role includes installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of customer equipment presently on Boston's District Steam System. You will work closely with our customers to ensure their systems are running smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities- All activities covered under Mechanic I.
- Soldering, burning, and conducting service and repairs such as valve rebuilding, repacking, and replacement.
- Reading and interpreting mechanical prints, understanding principles and components of steam, hot water, chilled water, and HVAC distribution, and basic controls.
- Testing, repairing, replacing, and servicing major steam, condensate, hot water, and chilled water components such as pumps, PRV's, steam traps, heat exchangers, and hot water systems.
- Maintaining and developing good customer relations while promoting the image of the company.
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- 5+ years of experience working in the trades in a field service role.
- Required to be trained or already trained as an Associated Asbestos Worker to perform related duties.
- No less than the following licenses issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts: Journeyman Pipefitter, Refrigeration Technician (HVAC), Electrician, or Plumber.
