Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing the Company's Contract Receivables portfolio. This includes overseeing billing processes, conducting follow-ups on aged receivables, and generating related reports. Key responsibilities encompass:

  • Assisting in the accurate and timely closing of the general ledger, which includes preparing and posting journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and conducting variance analysis and research.
  • Processing remote deposits and ensuring that general ledger account balances are materially accurate and compliant with internal controls and GAAP.
  • Leading various accounting initiatives and projects, focusing on process enhancements, regulatory compliance, and policy updates.
  • Executing additional duties as assigned to support the overarching objectives of the Accounting Team.

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

  • Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Expertise in general ledger accounting.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the terms related to the contract receivables portfolio.
  • Ensure the creation and submission of accurate and timely billing/invoicing for contract receivables.
  • Oversee the fixed assets ledger, ensuring proper setup, timely capitalization, depreciation, and disposal in line with established company policies.
  • Prepare month-end accruals and balance sheet account reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting procedures to reinforce internal controls.
  • Utilize systems to enhance efficiency in processes and reporting.
  • Collaborate internally and cross-functionally to achieve the team's overall goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting or a related field.
  • Four to five years of experience in accounting, ideally with a background in public accounting or healthcare.
  • Proficiency in general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing processes.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, including V-lookups, pivot tables, and if statements.
