Position Overview: Senior QA Automation Engineer

We are seeking a qualified individual to enhance our engineering team at Thirty Capital. The selected candidate will be responsible for assessing application functionality and developing automated tests to ensure optimal performance. This role involves identifying software defects, setting up testing environments, and collaborating closely with the software design and product teams, along with other stakeholders.

The ideal applicant will possess a robust background in quality assurance, encompassing both test automation and manual testing, paired with exceptional problem-solving abilities. Responsibilities include ensuring the quality of software products through the design, implementation, and execution of comprehensive test plans and cases utilizing cutting-edge technologies and tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create, develop, and sustain test plans, cases, and scripts for our Django-Python backend and frontend applications utilizing JavaScript and the XRay JIRA extension.
  • Build, deploy, and manage containerized workloads across various environments.
  • Conduct functional, integration, regression, and performance testing on web applications and APIs.
  • Employ Cypress for automated UI testing and Postman for API testing to enhance test coverage and efficiency.
  • Utilize SQL, primarily PostgreSQL, to ensure data integrity and execute database queries for testing purposes.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and leadership to identify and refine relevant test coverage, addressing defects in JIRA, our ticketing system.
  • Provide developers with a consistent testing infrastructure and automated tests to guarantee that developed code meets customer requirements and maximizes automated test coverage.
  • Engage with various internal customer-facing teams to understand deployment scenarios, upgrade paths, and dependencies, resolving issues related to test automation.
  • Establish, configure, and maintain CI/CD systems to ensure seamless integration of testing processes into the development workflow.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, offering feedback and recommendations to enhance product quality and testing methodologies.
  • Develop rapid prototypes and contribute to fast-paced projects.
  • Mentor and support junior QA engineers, sharing best practices and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and technologies, evaluating their relevance for our projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned that fall within the scope of this job classification.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in software quality assurance, focusing on web applications and APIs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with application functions, bug resolution, and testing protocols.
  • Demonstrated strong Python programming fundamentals, preferably with experience in one or more Python testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and technologies (e.g., Git, Terraform, Tekton, Ansible, AWS CDK).
  • Experience with Kubernetes or Docker.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end testing frameworks and tools, such as Cypress and Selenium.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and GitHub.
  • Proficient in JavaScript as the primary programming language for writing test cases.
  • Hands-on experience with Cypress, Postman, JIRA, and the XRay JIRA extension.
  • Experience with Co-Pilot.
Location:
  • The preferred candidate will reside in the Southeast region.
  • Occasional travel for in-person team gatherings may be required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US; sponsorships are not available.
