Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse with Wexford Health, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to our patients, including assessing physical, psychological, and psychosocial dimensions of patients, applying knowledge of illnesses, injuries, and diseases, and implementing professional nursing services in a thorough and competent manner.
Responsibilities
- Assess physical, psychological, and psychosocial dimensions of patients within the healthcare unit and, as necessary, in the housing units.
- Apply knowledge of illnesses, injuries, and diseases using available resources in obtaining a health history, and in the assessment process.
- Provide leadership to RNs, LPNs, MAs, CNAs, and other nursing paraprofessionals in patient care as related to medical aspects of patient care.
- Review and monitor all offenders receiving medications, as assigned, and maintain charts and records.
- Implement professional nursing services in a thorough and competent manner in accordance with standards, rules, protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including medication administration, treatments, and test results.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Participate in training and education programs to stay current with best practices and industry developments.
Requirements
- Current, valid IL State Registered Nursing License.
- Current CPR Certification (American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or American Safety and Health Institute).
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Minimum one year of clinical experience; correctional nursing experience preferred.
