Job Summary:
As a Probation Officer II with GeorgiaGov, you will play a critical role in supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of juvenile probationers into society. Under general supervision, you will investigate, counsel, and provide continuous supervision to ensure the social and personal adjustment of these individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough investigations of probationers' backgrounds, including review of court files, police reports, and other relevant documents.
- Develop and implement effective case management plans to address the unique needs of each probationer.
- Provide regular supervision and support to probationers, including monitoring their compliance with court-ordered conditions and providing guidance on life adjustments.
- Collaborate with community partners, including law enforcement, social services, and educational institutions, to ensure a comprehensive approach to rehabilitation.
- Testify in court as needed to provide expert testimony on matters related to probationers' cases.
- Perform arrests of parolees who have violated the terms of their release, in accordance with statutory requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, Georgia P.O.S.T. certification, and two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Probation Officer 1 (PSP010) or position equivalent.
- Field Training Officer Certification and/or one year of supervisory experience or serving as a lead worker, which may include budget planning, policy development, training, and/or special operations projects.
