Position Overview: We are in search of a dedicated Survey Operations Manager. This role requires a professional who can effectively oversee field surveying activities, including ALTA surveys, topographic mapping, boundary determinations, construction stakeout, horizontal and vertical control, utility as-builts, and GPS applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring effective communication with clients and team members on technical aspects.
  • Adhere to defined project scopes and financial plans.
  • Collaborate with project teams, including licensed surveyors, engineers, and technical staff.
  • Review field survey outcomes, assessing the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land features and structures.
  • Validate the precision of field survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
  • Prioritize Safety and Health by following all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings with the crew, reinforcing safety practices and ensuring all team members are comfortable with their assigned tasks.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide training on company standards, while encouraging experienced employees to assist in the development of newer team members.
  • Maintain organized digital files on assigned equipment to ensure the use of accurate and current data.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in land surveying techniques, construction stakeout, and instrument operation.
  • Experience with ALTA surveys, GPS technology, and total station equipment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks that require bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
