The County of Santa Barbara is seeking a skilled and compassionate Deputy Public Defender III to join our team. As a key member of our public defender's office, you will play a critical role in providing defense services to our community.

About the Role:
As a Deputy Public Defender III, you will be responsible for representing clients in authorized criminal and civil cases, conducting investigations, preparing trials, pleadings, and motions, trying cases before court and jury, and performing related duties as required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record demonstrating their knowledge of the principles of criminal and civil law, criminal procedure, and trial practice, as well as strong research and writing skills.

Key Responsibilities:
* Represent clients in authorized criminal and civil cases
* Conduct investigations and gather evidence
* Prepare trials, pleadings, and motions
* Try cases before court and jury

Benefits:
