Job Title: Assistant Patient Care Manager, Pediatric Emergency Department

Be part of a world-class academic healthcare system at the University of Chicago Medicine as an Assistant Patient Care Manager in the Comer Emergency Department. This role is a crucial part of the Comer ED, a 21-bed, Level 1 Pediatric Academic Trauma Center dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based care to children.

About the Role

The Assistant Patient Care Manager (APCM) will oversee the operations and patient flow of a designated Care Center on their respective shift. Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing daily or shift-specific quality audits and Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) boards
  • Facilitating daily huddles with staff
  • Directing delivery of quality, patient-centered care in a financially responsible manner

This role is in collaboration with and under the supervision of the Patient Care Manager (PCM). In the absence of the PCM, the APCM assumes responsibility for the unit.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree in Nursing or higher
  • A minimum of two years of nursing experience
  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience in the area you are applying for
  • Charge nurse experience with demonstrated leadership skills

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree and specialty certifications.
