Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning and Servicing Controls Technician to join our team at Trane Technologies. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for commissioning, programming, and servicing our advanced building automation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning and testing of building automation systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
- Programming and setup of graphics, communications links, and end-to-end testing
- Documentation of point-to-point verification, sequence of operations validation, and job close-out requirements
- Representing the company as the direct customer contact, servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Coordinating with team leaders and customers to understand project requirements and ensure successful on-site installation and repairs
- Staying up-to-date on Trane products and services, including installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems
- Enforcing safety standards and maintaining security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets
- Displaying team effort and dedication to customers by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed
Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent, or certificate of completion from an accredited technical school
- At least 7 years of experience in HVAC/Controls, with technical school or formal training preferred
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld computers (e.g., smartphones, iPads)
- A valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations
- Previous experience with DDC controls systems is preferred
Additional Requirements and Environmental Exposure:
- Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seatbelt
- Must be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harnesses, and safety boots to safely perform job duties
- Must be able to twist the trunk of the body 90 degrees in each direction
- Must be able to squat and touch the floor with both hands
- Must be able to reach hands over the head
- Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours
- This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders
