Job Summary

As a Lead Phlebotomist Laboratory Assistant, you will play a vital role in our laboratory team, ensuring the smooth operation of phlebotomy services and providing excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate phlebotomy duties, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ordering as needed.
  • Orient and train new staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Develop and implement quality performance practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide administrative support to the laboratory supervisor, including scheduling and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to resolve issues and provide information.
  • Perform venipuncture and microtechniques, collecting biological specimens for analysis.
  • Operate the pneumatic tube system, maintaining accurate and orderly log records.
  • Ensure a safe and orderly work environment, adhering to Infection Control policies.
Requirements
  • Certification as a PBT or MLA by a Board of Certification exam.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy training and experience in an outpatient or hospital setting.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Phlebotomist, preferably in a hospital laboratory receiving area.
