Truck Fleet Mechanic Position in Rochester, NY

Ryder System is immediately hiring a Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet in Rochester, New York.
About the JobAs a Senior Level Diesel Technician at Ryder System, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. You will also be required to work unsupervised on most tasks and interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of their complaint once assigned a task.
Job ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities as a Senior Level Diesel Technician will include:
- Performing standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks
- Diagnosing complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
- Completing complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Replacing defective components as instructed
- Working unsupervised on most tasks
- Interacting with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of their complaint once assigned a task
- Utilizing key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
- Working in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT)
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification post-secondary degree or technical certifications, preferred
- BASIC tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs
- Three years or more relevant work experience, preferred
- A valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
- All other certification as required by location, required

The estimated salary range for this position is approximately $1240 average weekly pay, which translates to around $64,320 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek and 52 weeks per year. This estimate may vary depending on factors such as location, experience, and performance.
