Job Description

Meridian Health Services is seeking a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist to join our Adult and Addiction Services program in Indiana. As a CPRS, you will work alongside patients providing peer support services, serving as a patient advocate, and facilitating non-clinical skills/support groups with the support of a licensed clinician.

This is a full-time position with a schedule of 7pm-7am (3 days a week). Our commitment to whole person healthcare and your desire to help change our communities for the better will make us an amazing team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients in identifying personal goals for recovery
  • Work with clinicians in the development of treatment and discharge plans
  • Provide case management services as identified in the patient's treatment plan; coordination of contractual care as needed
  • Complete relevant assessments
  • Assist patients in recognizing barriers to recovery
  • Assist patients in recognizing their personal strengths they build their recovery capital
  • Facilitate non-clinical skills groups
  • Assist patients in building social skills and the development of healthy relationships
  • Model different ways someone in recovery uses self-care
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current sustained period of recovery for at least 1 year with substance use and/or mental health
  • Self-identified person in recovery from substance use and/or mental health
  • Holds current Certified Peer Support Professional (CPSP) credential from the DMHA or will be required to obtain DMHA certification within 4 months of employment
