About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking a PRN X-Ray Technologist for our dynamic outpatient imaging center. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while accurately obtaining and entering patient demographic and insurance information into our Radiology Information System (RIS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients and their families with a friendly and helpful attitude; provide clear instructions regarding procedures and address any inquiries.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling for procedures and assist with administrative tasks.
  • Operate x-ray equipment to capture radiographs of specified anatomical areas, ensuring proper exposure techniques in line with radiation safety protocols.
  • Monitor additional equipment and assist physicians during fluoroscopic procedures, specialized radiographic exams, and bone density assessments (DEXA).
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and barium as needed.
  • Ensure the functionality of imaging equipment and report any malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Evaluate radiographic studies for technical quality, organize processed images correctly, and label them appropriately. Complete related documentation using computer systems as required.
  • Adhere to safety standards and utilize radiation protection measures when operating imaging devices.
  • Provide orientation and training to new technologists and educational support to student technologists.
  • Attend to the psychological and physical needs of patients and their families throughout all procedures.
  • Be capable of lifting, carrying, and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, and assist in positioning patients.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of Florida.
  • ARRT certification in Radiology (RT(R)) and BLS certification.
  • Preferred one year of experience in radiologic imaging; however, new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency in X-ray, Fluoroscopy, and Bone Density procedures and protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Experience with the operation, quality assurance, and troubleshooting of various radiologic equipment.
  • Intermediate computer skills and navigation abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
