About the Role

The Laser Cut Technician is responsible for ensuring the laser cutting process and equipment meet production requirements, minimizing machine downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimize and create laser cutting programs
  • Maintain program database and backup of machines
  • Perform nozzle tip changes and replacement of components
  • Repair mechanical components such as guides, spindles, gears, belts, etc.
  • Participate in continual improvement of quality methods, equipment performance, and product quality
  • Assist in training of associates
  • Focus on zero defects
Requirements
  • Trumpf laser cutting cells and associated programs
  • Basic preventative maintenance from Trumpf preferred
  • Able to understand G programming code an asset
  • Knowledge of Roll Forming systems and Post Laser Cutting experience preferred
  • Quality control and SPC knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years or combination experience of Tool & Die Maker or Controls Technician required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience of Trumpf cutting laser cells required
  • 2 years of experience in CNC controls experience
  • 2-5 years' experience with robots and PLC control systems in a robotic welding process environment, preferably in an industrial automotive setting
