Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Certified

Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician Certified will assist in the provision of pharmaceutical services under the direct supervision of the Registered Pharmacist by performing technical, clerical, and manipulative tasks involved in dispensing, preparing, and distributing all medications and pharmaceutical products for all patient age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the care and maintenance of departmental premises and equipment
  • Communicate all discrepancies and information requested to a Registered Pharmacist
  • Display self-initiative in anticipating and resolving daily work issues
  • File departmental records as appropriate
  • Perform dosage calculations and labels appropriately
  • Technician displays competency in maintaining, filing, troubleshooting, and running reports in Pyxis
  • Under the direction of the Pharmacist, prepares medication for dispensing; maintains unit dose system; delivers drug orders; and maintains and demonstrates awareness of limitations of technicians
  • Willingness and flexibility to work alternating and rotating work schedules on short notice
  • Willingness to work with attention to detail with the realization that errors may have serious consequences

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • State of New Jersey Pharmacy Technician, CPhT preferred or must be obtained within 90 days of hire

Pay Range:

$23.54 Hourly Rate
