Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Radiology Technologist to join our team at Wellstar Health System, Inc. as a FT Weekend Registered Radiology Technologist. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires flexibility, accountability, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operation
    • Adjust technique to minimize radiation exposure and ensure high-quality images.
    • Report equipment malfunctions to supervisors or service providers.
    • Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment according to infection control policies.
    • Operate all aspects of the system and radiographic equipment safely and competently.
  • Patient Care
    • Obtain complete clinical history, gather examination data, and assess for contraindicating conditions.
    • Follow established procedures for administering contrast media.
    • Ensure proper patient identification and marker usage.
    • Review radiographic images for clinically acceptable results and release patients.
    • Respond to emergency situations and maintain life support equipment.
  • Quality Control
    • Produce high-quality images with proper collimation, shielding, technique selection, penetration, and positioning.
    • Ensure equipment is fully operational before use.
    • Send studies to PACS, print CDs as necessary, and complete RIS documentation.
  • Operations
    • Restock linens and supplies, and maintain a clean and orderly Diagnostic Imaging Services environment.
    • Transport patients, position them, and assist with procedure tables.
    • Perform patient charging activities and apply shielding, supportive, and immobilization devices.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT Radiography certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) certification.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time weekend position with varying shifts, including Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. The successful candidate must be flexible and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
