In this role, you will assist in coordinating activities between scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification processes. You will serve as a clinical liaison with physician practices, facilitating pre-visit services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-registers and registers patients with precise demographic and financial information.
- May utilize different registration methods based on location, including mobile carts.
- Collects patient balances, co-payments, co-insurance, or other payment types.
- Verifies insurance coverage and ensures compliance with all requirements, including obtaining prior authorizations and referrals as necessary.
- Responds to inquiries from customers.
- Assists with departmental coverage as required.
- Manages daily appointment schedules, which may involve reminder calls and contacting referrals.
- May assist in transporting patients using appropriate equipment.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year Required:
Experience in a medical office or related customer service role.
Preferred:
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. One year of experience in a medical office or related customer service role is preferred. A strong background in customer service may be considered in lieu of medical office experience. Ability to manage conflict effectively and professionally is required.
Excellent time management skills, with a focus on meeting time-sensitive deadlines, are essential. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are also required.
