About the Role

Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services is seeking a skilled HIM Coder to join our team. As a HIM Coder, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient data, while also contributing to the organization's compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately apply coding principles to patient records, ensuring proper DRG and APC assignments
  • Identify and resolve clinical documentation clarifications, ensuring accurate code assignment and reimbursement
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and complete patient data
  • Stay up-to-date with changing coding guidelines and regulations, ensuring compliance and accuracy
Requirements
  • Required certification as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or other medical coding certification
  • Preferred 1-3 years coding experience
  • Completion of medical terminology course
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask
