We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. As an Endoscopy Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our Endoscopy suites.
Responsibilities:- Implement the nursing process, documenting nursing activities and interventions, and administering medication.
- Provide leadership and supervise the care, maintenance, and activities of the Endoscopy suites.
- Complete an age-appropriate assessment of the patient upon arrival to the surgical suite.
- Initiate the plan of care by proper preparation of the patient for surgery.
- Provide teaching and emotional support for surgical patients.
- Assure pre-procedure documentation and consent forms are complete.
- Assist with the preparation and care of the patient during anesthesia.
- Continually assess and monitor the patient's condition throughout endoscopic or pain management procedures.
- Set up equipment needed for procedures, and clean and sterilize all equipment post-procedure.
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute care setting.
- 1 year of Endoscopy experience - preferred.
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Business, or Healthcare Administration - preferred.
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- Certification in Gastroenterology through the American Board of Certification for Gastroenterology Nurses - preferred.
St. David's South Austin Medical Center is a 368-bed acute care facility offering a range of complex specialties and sub-specialties. Our services include a nationally accredited oncology program with the area's only adult Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program; advanced trauma care with a Level II trauma center; comprehensive cardiac, stroke, and orthopedic programs; full-service maternity and newborn care; and two full-service emergency centers in the communities of Bee Cave and Bastrop.
