Electrical Engineer II Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our growing Electrical group supporting Water Infrastructure projects.

This role will support design efforts for a variety of water infrastructure projects including treatment facilities, pump stations, and conveyance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design and experience working with water treatment facilities, pump stations, or water infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution systems and building services.
  • Prepare and develop engineering studies, reports, calculations, designs, specifications, and construction cost estimates in compliance with applicable code and standard requirements.
  • Establish electrical equipment performance parameters based on project requirements and coordinate with equipment vendors to refine preliminary selections.
  • Use computer software as a tool to solve engineering problems.
  • Manage designs during construction including shop drawing review, information request response, and punch list generation.
  • Work within a project team environment, interfacing and coordinating with other disciplines and design team members.
  • Collaborate with design professionals and project managers in other US offices. Occasionally collaborate internationally.
  • Occasional light local and national travel to project sites.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • 2+ years of Electrical design experience, preferably relating to water treatment facilities, pump stations, or water infrastructure.
  • EIT
  • Proficient with electrical design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, and Amp Calc.
  • Proven problem solver able to grasp complex concepts readily.
