Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Phlebotomist Group Lead to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a Phlebotomist Group Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of phlebotomists and ensuring the smooth operation of our Patient Service Centers and In-Office Phlebotomy locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of phlebotomists and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Ensure the accurate and timely collection of patient specimens
  • Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and clients

Requirements:

  • Seven years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
  • Keyboard/data entry experience
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training
  • Minimum 5 years in a Patient Service Center (PSC) / In-Office (IOP) environment
  • Customer service in a retail or service environment

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Lift light to moderately heavy objects
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Requires long hours of eye and hand coordination

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Committed to all Quest Diagnostics policies and procedures
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric

Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Certifications:

  • Phlebotomy certification (required in certain states)
