Job Summary

The Director of Intake and Assessment plays a critical role in ensuring that patients receive comprehensive assessments for psychiatric or substance abuse disorders. This position oversees the assessment process for all individuals seeking services, including initial assessments, staff supervision, and timely responses to inquiries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement assessment protocols to ensure accurate and efficient evaluations of patients.
  • Supervise staff in responding to inquiries and referrals, ensuring timely and effective communication with patients and families.
  • Collaborate with admitting psychiatrists to review clinical presentations and make treatment recommendations.
  • Document calls, set appointments, and create schedules for the assessment and referral office.
  • Interpret treatment options to patients and families, ensuring understanding and informed decision-making.
  • Refer and triage patients to other sources of treatment when appropriate, ensuring seamless transitions and continuity of care.
  • Assess, coach, and develop team skills in assessment, patient and family interaction, and overall therapeutic care.
  • Collect, monitor, and report service performance data to support hospital quality programs.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, or related field.
  • Licensure in the state of practice and independent practice scope licensure.
  • 2-5 years of leadership experience and 2-5 years of experience in the discipline.
