Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Inspector to join our team at BGM Engineering LLC. As a key member of our inspection team, you will be responsible for conducting site inspections on various construction projects in the New York City area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform or witness concrete, masonry, steel bolting, post installed anchors, and other activities on New York City construction projects, including low to mid-rise buildings, industrial, commercial, public, academic, and healthcare facilities.
  • Prepare and submit reports of inspection activities and technical documentation, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • File documentation and complete required technical report forms in accordance with the International Building Code (IBC).
  • Liaise with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, to ensure seamless communication and resolution of any issues that may arise during the inspection process.
  • Manage project documentation and status, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a construction or special inspector on progressively complex building/facility projects.
  • Proficiency in the use of standard Microsoft Office products and ability to become competent with latest project-related inspection software and reporting systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Working knowledge and experience with structural design, including familiarity with industry codes and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicate with colleagues and clients of all levels, and provide inspection reports in a timely manner.
  • Reliable means of transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to obtain additional certifications, as required by the company or industry.
