$75,000 - $120,000 / Year Commission-Based Position The Collision Repair Specialist's primary responsibility is to provide outstanding customer service through the careful evaluation and quality restoration of each vehicle to its pre-accident state. The Collision Repair Specialist meticulously disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicles, playing a crucial role in our commitment to speed, quality, and customer satisfaction. This position works collaboratively with all team members to achieve the repair facility's performance indicators and serves as a dedicated representative of Gerber Payroll Services, Inc. at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure consistent execution of the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
2. Plan necessary repair work and prepare cost estimates for clients.
3. Utilize various tools, including cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers, to repair vehicle sections.
4. Address dents, dimples, and minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when necessary.
5. Realign car chassis and frames to rectify structural damage.
6. Remove damaged vehicle sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts.
7. Replace or repair glass and windshields as required.
8. Replace or repair interior components as needed.
9. Weld and fit parts into place, and prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or agreed-upon equivalents.
10. Strive to complete work orders within labor time guidelines.
11. Inspect vehicles post-repair to ensure all work has been executed correctly.
12. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to collaborate with other repairers in an auto body shop.
- Comprehensive understanding of methods and procedures for vehicle body repair.
- Proficient in using tools required for the trade.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy environment with various odors present.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in different weather conditions.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
