Role Summary:
As a Pharmacy Intern, under the guidance of a Registered Pharmacist, you will engage in the responsibilities of a Pharmacy Technician. This includes assisting pharmacists in their duties and contributing to various administrative or clinical projects as assigned.
You will also be tasked with additional responsibilities as needed.Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
- Completion of in-house training in IV preparation and sterile technique within three months of hire.
- At least one year of academic coursework completed.
Licensure:
- A valid Pharmacy Technician License is required to be registered with the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy and must be in good standing.
Experience:
- A minimum of one year of pharmacy technician experience within our healthcare system or five years of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is necessary.
Certification:
- Registration with the National Pharmacy Technician Association as a Certified Pharmacy Technician is required, along with maintaining current certification. All written and practical exams must be passed in accordance with the achievement program.
Skills and Knowledge:
- A higher command of job skills is essential, with a willingness to train other technicians in relevant areas. If employed as a Senior Technician, you must strive for a higher command of job skills and be prepared to mentor others.
- All medications and preparations must be verified by a registered pharmacist prior to dispensing.
