Accountant II (Temp) Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant II (Temp) to join our team in Northwest Houston. This on-site position requires the successful candidate to perform detailed reviews of vendor invoices and ensure compliance with contractual requirements related to task orders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough reviews of financial documentation to ensure accuracy and adherence to task orders.
  • Verify vendor invoices to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Provide detailed reporting and analysis of vendor performance.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in invoices or financial documentation.

Requirements:

Essential Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial document review.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for government and not-for-profit entities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a minimum of two (2) years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of grants, specifically 2 CFR 200, HUD CDBG/CDBG-DR grants.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: $15.98 per hour.
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
