Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Denver Health. As a key member of our Eye Clinic, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our mission to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform ocular examinations, including history taking, acuity, ocular motility, alignment, and intraocular pressure assessment, lensometry, and refraction.
  • Conduct visual field testing, OCT, pachymetry, topography, biometry, and ocular photography.
  • Determine the need for urgent care based on patient information, medical records, and presenting signs/symptoms.
  • Provide post-operative instructions and explanations regarding prescriptions for medications and glasses to patients.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Post High School Diploma or Certificate Program Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA Certification) required.
  • 1-3 years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician required.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association required.
  • COT-Certified Ophthalmology - IJCAHPO - International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology required.
