Position Overview
The Food Services Substitute Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the meal service operations within the educational environment. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the efficient preparation and delivery of nutritious meals to students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of meal components in accordance with established guidelines;
- Support the packing and heating processes for meal components;
- Help in the preparation and assembly of meals for adults;
- May oversee student helpers during meal service;
- Operate barbecue equipment as needed;
- Participate in the cleaning of dishes, trays, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen appliances;
- Assist in serving food to students and faculty members;
- Maintain cleanliness in work and dining areas, including proper disposal of waste;
- Ensure that tools and equipment are cleaned, maintained, stored, and secured appropriately.
Essential Skills Required:
- Ability to prepare and set up food for students and staff efficiently;
- Capability to serve food according to established protocols;
- Proficient in washing and assembling food items and ingredients;
- Maintain food service equipment and facilities in a hygienic manner;
- Adhere to health and sanitation standards;
