Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardio Diagnostic Technician II to join our team at Houston Methodist. This experienced technician will perform a variety of routine to complex electrocardiograms (12 lead EKGs), Holter monitor applications, and exercise/treadmill stress tests for both inpatient and outpatient exams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrocardiograms (12 lead EKGs) and Holter monitor exams, ensuring precise placement of electrodes for accurate EKG data.
  • Conduct exercise/treadmill stress tests, documenting patient vital signs, symptoms, and tolerance of the exam.
  • Provide direct assistance to physicians and other healthcare team members during diagnostic exams.
  • Process and transmit EKG, Holter monitor, and stress test data to designated software applications.
  • Ensure exams are available for physician interpretation, completing paperwork and reconciling exams as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s).
  • One year experience as a technician performing electrocardiograms (12 lead EKGs), Holter monitor applications, and/or stress tests.
  • Certification as a Cardiographic Technician (CCI), Certified EKG Technician (NHA), or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in operating multiple computer systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and team player skills, with excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members, and coworkers.
Work Environment

This position requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent interruptions. The technician must be able to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
