Loyola University Chicago seeks a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our dining services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality food preparation and presentation for our students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect food preparation and serving areas to maintain safe and sanitary food handling practices.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Assist with food inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service to guests with dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Collaborate with the Chef and other culinary staff to plan and execute menu items and special events.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; culinary school degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in food preparation and cooking.
- Working knowledge of cooking and food preparation industry standards.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
