Job Overview

LOCATION: Wilmington, NC


SALARY: $18 - $24.50/hr.

PRIMARY ROLE:
Under minimal supervision, the individual will operate a concrete mixer truck on public roads and construction sites to transport and deliver concrete materials. Candidates must possess a valid CDL Class A or B North Carolina Driver's license along with a clean driving record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Concrete Mixer Truck Operator
1.) Conduct pre/post trip inspections of the vehicle and secure loads as necessary.
2.) Ascend and descend mixer trucks using ladders, performing repetitive motions to check concrete mix consistencies and conduct quality control assessments.
3.) Lift truck hoods and utilize tools for inspection, repair, loading, and unloading tasks.
4.) Assist shop personnel with required repairs.
5.) Maintain cleanliness of trucks, including washing and cleaning the cab and mixer drums.
6.) Operate the vehicle safely and courteously at all times.
7.) Ensure the vehicle's interior and exterior are clean and free from debris.
8.) Follow road signs and adhere to written or verbal instructions.
9.) Communicate with management via radio or GPS regarding any delays or issues.
10.) Be prepared to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required by customer demands.
11.) Present a clean and professional appearance at all times.
12.) Maintain operator logs and documentation as mandated by regulations or company policies.
13.) Perform all tasks in compliance with company policies and procedures.
14.) Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by supervisors or management.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Experience:

  • Preferred minimum of one (1) year experience driving a commercial vehicle.
  • Current medical examination certificate with card is required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and punctuality are essential.
  • Willingness to work various hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires significant physical effort, including climbing, pulling, and lifting heavy materials or equipment (over 80 pounds). A detailed Physical Demands sheet may be provided for further specifics.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Employees must be able to work in environments with noise, dust, heat, cold, oil, and heavy machinery. Effective communication and the ability to process detailed information are crucial.
