Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Per Diem Registered Nurse to join our team at New Brunswick Counseling Center. As a Per Diem Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our medication unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform nursing assessments on new admissions and readmissions as necessary.
  • Follow federal, state, and agency policies, including CFR 42.
  • Review patient prescriptions and OTC medications to ensure proper prescribing and awareness of adverse reactions.
  • Administer and dispense methadone in accordance with New Jersey State and Federal regulations.
  • Ensure accurate recording of administration/dispensing transactions.
  • Perform and interpret on-site TB tests and other testing as ordered by the physician.
  • Complete quarterly nursing progress notes in a timely fashion.
  • Record and report observed symptoms and changes in patient condition to the interdisciplinary team and medical director.
  • Communicate patient status through legible and precise documentation.
  • Make health referrals as necessary.
  • Count patient medications and initiate callbacks to monitor for diversion or abuse/misuse.
  • Answer nursing/medical questions and make referrals as needed.
  • Provide first aid to patients and staff as needed.
  • Provide technical assistance to staff in understanding patient medical problems.
  • Attend staffing, QA, and other designated meetings.
  • Maintain licensure and attend seminars to maintain professional growth.
  • Keep the Medical Director informed of changes in clinical and medical matters.
Requirements
  • Licensed in the state of NJ as a registered nurse (RN).
  • Ability to work independently and exercise discretion and own judgment.
  • Work Schedule: Per-Diem position.
  • Timings: 5:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (As needed).

License or Certification: Registered Nurse (RN) (Required)
