Job Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, headquartered in Rockville, Maryland. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social science and experience working with data analysis and program evaluation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with experts in community level measurement and data collection, state and community leaders, to gather and input data for analysis.
  • Lead findings and recommendations regarding behavioral health trends.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the collection, analysis and reporting of community data.
  • Represent the Center on agency-wide committees and working groups involved in data collection.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • Suitable for federal employment.
  • Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • Documentation that you present for purposes of completing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Form I-9 will be verified through the DHS E-Verify System.

Qualifications
  • Basic Qualifications: Must meet one of the items listed below:
  1. Possess a degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
  2. Possess a combination of education and experience that provided you with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
  3. Possess four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • For GS-12: In addition to meeting the basic qualification requirement above, you must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position.
