Travel Nurse RN: Dialysis Care Specialist

At Wellspring Nurse Source, we are seeking a highly skilled travel nurse to join our team as a Dialysis Care Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate nurse to provide exceptional care to patients in need of dialysis treatment.
About the RoleThis 13-week contract will require working 36 hours per week with 12-hour shifts, providing care to patients undergoing hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis in an inpatient setting. As a Dialysis Care Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, ensuring optimal fluid and electrolyte balance, and administering dialysis treatments as prescribed.
Responsibilities- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, and dialysis-related parameters to identify potential complications.
- Administer medications, including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, and other dialysis-related medications, as prescribed by nephrologists.
- Educate patients on dialysis procedures, expected outcomes, and self-care post-treatment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care and advocate for patients' needs.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
- Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; dialysis certification (e.g., Certified Nephrology Nurse - CNN) preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in dialysis, nephrology, or critical care nursing.
