KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) is seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, specifying, selecting, and providing services related to pressure vessels and atmospheric storage tanks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop pressure vessels and atmospheric storage tanks
  • Specify and select materials and equipment for pressure vessels and atmospheric storage tanks
  • Provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers
  • Perform work that involves conventional engineering practice, but may include complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitable materials, and difficult coordination requirements
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 7 years of experience working with pressure vessels for an engineering company or pressure vessel shop
  • Experience with exchangers/pressure vessels in the shop or field (a plus)
  • Experience visiting shops to inspect equipment (a plus)
  • Experience requisitioning pressure vessels
  • Experience performing bid reviews for pressure vessels
  • Experience reviewing supplier drawings
Technical Skills:
  • Working knowledge of ASME pressure vessel code
  • Experience working with API storage tank code
  • Experience using software to design pressure vessels such as PVElite or Compress
  • Mechanical detailing of pressure vessels
  • Experience leading pressure vessel engineering for small projects
