Job Summary:

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of a crew engaged in utility construction, excavating, and grading for various projects such as highways, streets, and site development.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Work with superintendents and project managers to ensure that assigned projects remain on time and on budget.
  • Crew Coordination: Organize and coordinate the daily activities of assigned crew and equipment pertaining to the scope of work, including delegation of tasks, and holding individuals accountable.
  • Project Planning: Read and interpret project plans and specifications.
  • Surveying: Understand, interpret, and follow surveying markers and plans including slope stakes, control points, lines, grades.
  • Equipment Operation: Direct equipment operators to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
  • Material Coordination: Coordinate the supply of materials for assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery of materials to project sites.
  • Employee Development: Support and promote employee training, mentoring, and development; address performance concerns as needed.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure equipment maintenance inspections are completed to maintain equipment in safe operating condition.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks, including but not limited to e-mail correspondence, timecard entry, handling documents and electronic files, etc.
Requirements:
  • Education: Valid Drivers' License and ability to maintain a clean driving history required; Commercial drivers' license preferred.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience working in a specialized construction field and/or related industry; 1 to 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes related to area of responsibility; Ability to use a computer and/or mobile device, including use of MS Office, Android, and iOS applications required.
