Banquet Captain

The Banquet Captain is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests by overseeing all aspects of banquets and events. This includes set-up, serving, and cleanup, with a focus on detail, quality presentation, and customer satisfaction.

1. Assist guests in a professional and courteous manner.
2. Perform job duties in a cost-effective manner and within budgetary guidelines.
3. Direct banquet setup and scheduling, including anticipating banquet scheduling and supplies needs based on BEOs and forecasting.
4. Ensure proper billing and recording of all events in a timely manner.
5. Communicate with management and banquet associates through daily communication.
6. Assist with interviews and the selection of qualified associates for hire.
7. Provide effective orientation, training, coaching, evaluation, recognition, and motivation to associates.
8. Enforce company policies and assist with administering corrective action as necessary.

1. Must have the ability to provide professional and courteous guest service.
2. Must have good time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
3. Must have effective decision-making skills and the ability to coach and mentor others.
4. Must have good organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.
5. Must have the ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing.
6. Must have a working knowledge of computers, the ability to work with spreadsheets, and basic math skills.
7. Must have the ability to work a variety of shifts in order to meet business needs.
8. Previous banquet or event experience required.

The Banquet Captain will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on providing exceptional service to guests. The position requires the ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, weekdays, mornings, evenings, and holidays.
