Job Title: EHS Specialist

About the Role:

We are a global leader in automotive seating, and we're looking for a talented EHS Specialist to join our team. As an EHS Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees. You will be responsible for evaluating and implementing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and providing training to employees on safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the plant's risk management program to minimize physical and financial exposure resulting from potential, alleged or actual on-the-job injuries
• Recommend and support actions and programs necessary to keep the plant in compliance with federal and state (OSHA) environmental (EPA) hazardous waste, local health and safety laws
• Attend or lead the plant hourly Safety Team, Central Safety Committee, and Case Management Team
• Coordinate the development and implementation of appropriate safety policies and practices to ensure compliance with Corporate guidelines
• Coordinate and conduct educational and training programs relative to safety to empower employees to achieve long-term results
• Conduct Job Safety Analysis on each manufacturing job
• Coordinate the development and recommend policies and practices related to industrial hygiene and worker compensation
• Interact with vendors and Purchasing to evaluate personal protective equipment, chemicals for all hazards, establish ratings and hazardous waste management policies and practices, and coordinate with plant engineering and assess Material Safety Data Sheets
• Coordinate the administration of the Hazardous Communication Program
• Perform all additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Safety
• Two to five years of experience in Safety and Health
