Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team at SSM Health Care System in St. Louis, MO. As a CRNA, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Anesthesia Evaluations

Conduct thorough pre-anesthesia evaluations on patients to determine their suitability for anesthesia and identify any potential risks or complications.

Anesthesia Administration

Administer anesthesia to patients under the direction of anesthesiologists, ensuring that the patient's vital signs are monitored and maintained within safe limits.

Post-Anesthesia Care

Provide post-anesthesia care to patients, including monitoring their vital signs and providing pain management and other necessary interventions.

Collaboration with Anesthesiologists

Work closely with anesthesiologists to ensure that patients receive high-quality anesthesia care and that any complications are promptly addressed.

Communication with Surgeons

Communicate effectively with surgeons to ensure that patients receive the best possible care and that any concerns or issues are promptly addressed.

Documentation and Record-Keeping

Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including anesthesia administration, vital signs, and any complications or issues that arise.

Requirements
  • Education

A Master's degree or higher in Nursing with a specialization in Nurse Anesthesia is required.

Experience

A minimum of one year of experience as a CRNA is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.

Certifications

Certification as a CRNA is required.

Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday with alternating weekly off days. The successful candidate will be required to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
