About the Role: This position is pivotal in providing guidance and support to fellow Billers while overseeing the daily operations of the Business Office. Your responsibilities will include:
- Exhibiting exemplary behavior and communication skills that reflect our commitment to superior customer service.
- Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of CPT and ICD-9 codes, along with required modifiers and encounter data.
- Generating claims from our data systems for accurate data entry.
- Reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of paper encounter forms.
- Conducting data entry for encounter forms and copayments.
- Assisting with patient registration and verifying insurance details.
- Maintaining and updating summary encounter data tracker reports.
- Reviewing encounter forms for completeness and making necessary corrections.
- Preparing payments for data entry in accordance with established policies.
- Addressing patient billing inquiries and acting as a liaison between Site Operations and Revenue Operations.
- Applying knowledge of Medicare and Medi-Cal guidelines to ensure correct claim processing.
- Serving as a resource for coding and billing inquiries within the organization.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical billing.
- Professional knowledge of CPT & Diagnosis Coding, Medical Terminology, and basic Anatomy.
- Proficiency in MS Suite and other relevant systems.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid model, attending the office as needed.
Preferred:
- CPC certification.
- 3+ years of experience in medical billing or related fields.
- Experience with IDX and HMO/managed care.
- Bilingual proficiency.
