Mobile HVAC Specialist

The Mobile HVAC Specialist will collaborate with an account-based team and will be accountable for ongoing preventive and responsive maintenance tasks within a designated geographic area. This role will encompass hands-on responsibilities to execute the necessary functions in accordance with JLL Integrated Facility Management (IFM) standards and protocols. The position will also involve practical repair and maintenance (R&M) activities on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation systems, access control systems, door and gate mechanisms, building envelope systems, grounds and parking areas, interior finishing systems, lighting systems, and various other R&M tasks linked to the operation of commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventive maintenance and repair services on HVAC systems, water chillers, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems to ensure properties remain in optimal operational condition.
  • Identify opportunities for energy savings at facilities, including system and operational modifications that can reduce the property's energy usage.
  • The Mobile HVAC Specialist will also proficiently perform routine building maintenance, plumbing, and other necessary tasks.
  • Must be capable of independently organizing work assignments, executing duties with minimal direct oversight, and assisting in other trades and the general maintenance and operation of buildings and grounds.

Work Environment:

  • This position is truck-based and involves travel to various locations within a specified area.
  • Must be a collaborative team member dedicated to working in a quality-focused environment. Daily interaction with teams in person, via phone, and through email will be necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • May be tasked with the responsibility for specific buildings and the maintenance duties associated with the effective operation of the assigned site(s).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

  • Possess practical skills and knowledge to perform necessary repairs and maintenance on commercial HVAC systems using industry-standard tools and in compliance with all relevant codes, laws, and regulations.
  • Ability to effectively utilize computers and software applications (including Microsoft Office Suite), navigate the internet for web-based applications, and operate handheld electronic devices.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to effectively manage diverse relationships with team members, contractors, building occupants, and clients.

Minimum Required Education:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC service and repairs or 5 years of military experience that includes work on HVAC systems.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Universal CFC certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires working outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms, and potentially in extreme weather conditions. The employee must frequently lift and/or move heavy equipment. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
