We are looking for a skilled Geriatric Speech Therapist to work with us at Aequor Technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and assessing speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in residents of skilled nursing facilities. You will develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing deficits, enhancing residents' quality of life. Your responsibilities will include providing direct therapy services, including individual and group sessions, to improve speech, language, and swallowing functions. You will also educate residents, families, and caregivers on strategies and techniques to support communication and swallowing needs at home and in the facility. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, is also a key aspect of this role.
Job Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating and assessing speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in residents of skilled nursing facilities
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing deficits
- Providing direct therapy services, including individual and group sessions, to improve speech, language, and swallowing functions
- Educating residents, families, and caregivers on strategies and techniques to support communication and swallowing needs
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for residents
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting
