Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and Director of Nursing, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) I performs direct resident care duties within the scope of their professional certification and assists in maintaining a positive, physical, and psychosocial environment for the residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct Resident Care: Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and changing of bed linens.
  • Assist with Resident Activity Programs: Participate in and assist with resident activity programs, promoting socialization and engagement.
  • Meal Preparation and Assistance: Prepare residents for meals and snacks, and assist residents in eating when needed, recording food intake as required.
  • Restorative and Rehabilitative Procedures: Read and follow daily care plans, perform assigned restorative and rehabilitative procedures, and report changes in condition to the Charge Nurse.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document care provision on resident records/flow sheets as required and report accidents and incidents to the Charge Nurse.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Follow safety and sanitation rules, and promptly report any injuries or violations to the supervisor.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understand, comply with, and promote all regulations and policies regarding resident rights, and promote peer compliance of stated regulations and policies.
  • Admission, Transfer, and Discharge: Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge of residents.
  • Interpersonal Relationships: Promote positive relationships with residents, visitors, and government regulators, presenting a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Transportation Aide: Must be fully trained and able to serve as a Transportation Aide.
Requirements:
  • Certification and Experience: Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in good standing with the State, with preferably one year of experience with the company.
  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Must relate positively to residents, family members, employees, nursing, and facility management.
  • Attendance and Punctuality: Must comply with company Time and Attendance Policies.
  • Physical and Sensory Requirements: Must meet all local health regulations, and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment.
  • Accommodations: Must be capable of performing the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
