Job Title: SUD Counselor

Join the Salvation Army team as a SUD Counselor and make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues.

About the Role:

The SUD Counselor will provide direct supervision and case management services to participants in our residential drug and alcohol recovery program. This role requires a strong understanding of addiction and mental health issues, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized case management and advocacy services to participants
  • Facilitate psycho-educational groups and provide support to participants in their recovery journey
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure adherence to safety and security measures
  • Assist with file and data entry reconciliation in preparation for audits
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Wellness Center Program Manager, Clinical Director, and Facility Director
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g. psychology, social work, counseling)
  • Certification/registration as an Addiction Treatment Counselor by a state-approved organization
  • Current TB test and CPR/First Aid certification
  • Knowledge of HMIS and experience with co-occurring disorders a plus
Working Conditions:

The SUD Counselor will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a team of dedicated professionals. The ideal candidate will be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. The ability to lift up to 25 lbs is also required.

Salary:

$23.00-$30.00/hour
