POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Vascular Surgeon is dedicated to the evaluation, medical oversight, and surgical intervention for patients suffering from vascular disorders affecting blood vessels beyond the heart and brain. This role requires expertise in diagnosing and managing preoperative, operative, and postoperative care for various vascular conditions.

Responsibilities include selecting appropriate surgical instruments and techniques to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The surgeon will assess the necessity for diagnostic tests or follow-up consultations and will meticulously review patient medical histories to confirm surgical requirements. Additionally, the Vascular Surgeon will guide medical staff in patient care strategies and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, dieticians, hospitalists, radiologists, pathologists, and pharmacists, to formulate comprehensive treatment plans.

In this position, the surgeon may also conduct training sessions to familiarize staff with emerging healthcare technologies. Compliance with all relevant laws and regulations in documentation practices is essential.

Essential Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in the management of patients with diverse vascular diseases, encompassing diagnosis, medical therapy, and both reconstructive and endovascular surgical methods.
  • Possess advanced knowledge and skills necessary for delivering thorough care to patients with vascular conditions, alongside the ability to educate others on these matters.
  • Proficient in interpreting diagnostic tests such as plethysmography, duplex ultrasonography, MRI, CT scans, angiography, and other relevant evaluations for vascular disease diagnosis.
  • Exhibit strong leadership capabilities.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service aptitude.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with conflict resolution expertise.
  • Function independently and show self-evaluation of professional outcomes.
Required Credentials
  • Active Medical license in California.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical School.
  • Completion of an accredited ACGME training program, whether Independent, Early Specialization, or Integrated.
  • Evidence of ongoing education and professional development to maintain licensure.
  • Board Certification or Eligibility from the American Board of Surgery.
