Position Overview:
As a Clinical Speech-Language Specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with speech-language, cognitive-communicative, and swallowing disorders. Your role will involve providing essential training to patients, their families, and caregivers regarding communication and swallowing challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and develop treatment plans for individuals experiencing communication and swallowing difficulties.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients and families on strategies to improve communication and swallowing abilities.

Compensation:
The starting wage for this position is $35.308 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience and qualifications.

Scope of Practice:
The patient demographic includes individuals recovering from strokes, orthopedic conditions, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, and other neurological and medical issues. The rehabilitation services cater to a wide age range, from pre-teens to seniors.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Current State of Hawaii Speech Pathology licensure.
  • Active membership with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Completion of all job-related competencies and requirements.

Education:
Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
Specialization in Neurogenic Communication Disorders and Dysphagia during Master's program.

Experience:
Completion of a Clinical Fellowship in a rehabilitation setting is highly desirable.
