Job Overview

Position: Mammography Technologist - Per Diem

Location: Port Jefferson, NY

As a key member of our team, you will contribute significantly to patient care by ensuring precise and timely imaging results.

This role is focused on overseeing operations in our state-of-the-art breast imaging facility. We are seeking a proactive mammography technologist to conduct radiographic imaging procedures that assist healthcare providers in diagnosing various conditions. You will perform essential technological functions to guarantee the highest quality of patient care while adhering to safe and efficient practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine and diagnostic mammography procedures.
  • Assist in performing stereotactic biopsies.
  • Manage inventory and procure necessary supplies.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and empathy while explaining procedures to patients to alleviate concerns and ensure cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for imaging procedures.
  • Adjust equipment settings to optimize exposure factors and produce high-quality images.
  • Process and review images for accurate identification and quality assurance.
  • Implement radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Train and orient new staff members.
  • Carry out additional related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of continuous experience in Mammography.
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Availability for daytime weekday shifts, with options for four ten-hour shifts.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.

Compensation: Up to $60 per hour.
