Position Overview: Senior Software Developer

Team Overview: We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to enhance our expanding team of development professionals. The selected candidate will be tasked with advancing and refining our data architecture and pipeline systems, as well as improving data flow and collection processes for various teams. The Data Engineer will collaborate with our data division on key initiatives and ensure that the data delivery architecture remains consistent across ongoing projects.

Impact of the Role: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data collection across diverse formats and will take pleasure in parsing, transforming, and optimizing data systems, as well as constructing them from the ground up. The right individual will be motivated by the opportunity to enhance or even redesign our company's data architecture to facilitate the next generation of products and data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and sustain optimal data pipeline architecture.
  • Identify, design, and execute internal process enhancements: automating manual tasks, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for improved scalability.
  • Construct the necessary infrastructure for effective extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide array of data sources into SQL Server, MongoDB, and other systems.
  • Create data tools for team members focused on data quality that assist in building and optimizing pipelines to improve workflows.
  • Establish processes that support data transformation, data structures, metadata, and workload management.

Candidate Profile:

  • A candidate with over 8 years of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering roles, holding a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proficient in SQL Server with extensive experience in relational databases, query authoring (SQL), and familiarity with various database types including NoSQL and Big Data.
  • Experience with Visual Studio, ASP.NET Frameworks, .NET Core, C#, SQL Server, NoSQL, Java, and Internet Information Services (IIS).
  • Skilled in multi-threading in C# and ensuring data integrity in SQL Server.
  • Proficient in conducting root cause analysis on both internal and external data and processes to address specific business inquiries and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Strong analytical abilities related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

S&P Global indicates that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000. The final base salary will be determined based on the individual's geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan and additional benefits offered by S&P Global.
