Job Summary

The Facilities Specialist III is a key member of the Lifestream Behavioral Center team, responsible for maintaining and repairing buildings, structures, and their attendant equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain sound working relationships with program staff to ensure effective outcomes for the Center.
  • Assist in the management and oversight of day-to-day maintenance operations, including carpentry, painting, locksmith, plumbing, electrical, control systems, HVAC, and related work.
  • Lead the work of others, including those of the same classification, and perform rough and finish maintenance carpentry and plastering on commercial, public, and residential buildings.
  • Repair and replace doors, windows, building hardware, fencing, and gates, and perform construction carpentry and cabinet-making.
  • Maintain, repair, and construct roof systems, and perform general maintenance and repair work on glazing materials, floor coverings, ceramic tiles, and concrete and masonry work.
  • Design, fabricate, and weld steel fixtures, and install and repair locks, door closers, and related hardware.
  • Re-key building and offices, and duplicate, change, and master keys, and maintain electronic access control systems and related components.
  • Inspect, install, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing components and plumbing fixtures, and perform maintenance and repair work on building power and lighting systems, sewage and storm pumps, motors, and HVAC systems.
  • Repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and related apparatus, and build, assemble, transport, install, and/or repair facility furnishings and fixtures.
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in coordinating work, requisitioning supplies, and inspecting work performed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma preferred, trade school training required.
  • Minimum 8 years related experience with comprehensive knowledge of maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, construction, carpentry, HVAC, and painting.
  • Ability to accurately diagnose and provide basic and complex repair to Center facilities in a timely manner.
  • Ability to assist as backup to Maintenance Supervisor and understand and accurately complete required documentation in relation to maintenance of all Center facilities.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, and ability to lift and/or carry items weighing seventy (70) pounds.
